Overview
We built a web based AR product catalog to reduce that gap. The idea was simple let users select a product, view it in 3D along with its cross section on phone or PC, and using a phone place it on a real surface to clearly understand proportions, all through a browser.
When products have profiles, layers, or internal geometry, normal catalogs don’t do justice. Drawings explain the idea, but not how a product actually looks or feels at real scale. This often leads to extra calls, repeated explanations, and changes later in the process.
No app installs. No setup.
The Problem We Were Solving
The client had multiple product variants with different profiles. Explaining these through PDFs and static images was time consuming, especially when working with architects and technical teams.
Common issues included:
- Cross sections were hard to interpret without guidance
- Scale was often misunderstood
- The same questions came up repeatedly during sales discussions
- Approvals took longer than necessary
What was missing was a way to see the product clearly, without explanation.
Our Approach
Instead of adding complexity, we focused on flow.
QR Scan → Web Product Catalog → 3D Product View (Browser) / AR Product View (Android Phone)

Everything runs inside the browser, so it works during meetings, site visits, or remote calls.
What We Built
- Accurate 3D cross section models prepared for web use
- A simple product selection interface
- Real scale 3D product placement on flat surfaces
- Clean interaction controls, without clutter
- Optimized performance for common mobile devices
The focus was always on clarity, not visual effects.
How It’s Used
Once placed in AR, users can walk around the model, look closely at internal profiles, and compare variants. Most questions that usually come up during explanations get answered on their own.
It works well for:
- Early design discussions
- Sales and technical presentations
- Product comparison during specification
Result
- Faster understanding of product profiles
- Fewer back and forth clarification calls
- Reduced dependency on printed drawings
- More confident approvals
The catalog now acts as a practical reference tool, not just a marketing asset.
Extended Use Cases
Where This AR Workflow Adds Real Value
Architectural & Building Products
Profiles, frames, sections, and assemblies can be reviewed before specification or approval.
Engineering & Manufacturing Products
Complex components can be explained clearly without physical samples.
Sales & Technical Presentations
Sales teams can demonstrate product internals instantly during meetings or exhibitions.
Web-Based Product Catalogs
Works as a standard 3D viewer on desktop and automatically upgrades to AR on mobile.
The Impact
- Faster technical understanding
- Fewer clarification loops
- Reduced revisions and rework
- Improved confidence during approvals
- A modern, professional product experience
The AR catalog now acts as a self-explanatory product interface, available anytime.
Why This Matters
When people can see a product at real scale and understand its internal structure, decisions become easier. AR helps close the gap between drawings and reality without adding friction to the process.
If you’re dealing with complex products that are hard to explain through static catalogs, we can help you convert them into a web-based AR product experience.
